I’m Michael Carter, a sales management coach and sales trainer with more than 25 years of executive management, sales, marketing, and leadership experience. My expertise is in working with companies that generate revenue based on the efforts of a direct sales force, either business-to-business or business-to-consumer.

I have personally lead sales teams on a local, regional and international level with companies like Wells Fargo Alarm Services, SecurityLink from Ameritech, Alarm Security Groups and Tyco. This meat hiring, training and coaching hundreds of salespeople, sales managers, and regional sales managers.

Helping sales teams and their leaders realize their full potential and achieve their professional goals is a passion.

My coaching services are based on real-world experience and not theory garnered from a textbook, so don’t expect an academic.

The Program And Process

The goal of the Sales Management Coaching and Mentoring program is to provide the tool you need for IMMEDIATE RESULTS with the tools sales managers need for the long hall.

Our Sales Management Coaching & Mentoring programs are tied to the company’s strategic initiatives, plan objectives and growth strategies. The coach will meet with senior management and each manager to be coached. This interaction ensures that the coaching and mentoring assignment centers on achieving company objectives and developing the sales managers expertise. The first step in the process is to understand the desired outcomes, and put performance metrics in place. The program includes:

  1. 1Schedule two meetings with senior management to outline objectives, define the companies sales strategy and define the scope of the engagement.
  2. 2Schedule the first meeting with the coaching client, the sales manager.
  3. 3Perform interviews with a minimum of three colleagues and direct reports of the manager.
  4. 4Work with coaching client to creating a personal development Plan.
  5. 5Schedule one coaching and mentoring sessions each week for a minimum of six months via the telephone.
  6. 6Unlimited email support between calls.

The Process And Purpose Of A Coach

The number one job of a coach is to help you maximize your talents.

A coach is there to guild you through challenges, provide a second set of eyes, and help you achieve the best possible results.

Because of the time and work involved in one-on-one sales management coaching.

Because of the time and work involved in one-on-one sales management coaching, we can only accept a limited number of coaching clients at any one time. Our one-on-one coaching consists of a weekly session, typically 45 minutes to an hour, via teleconference or Skype.

  1. 1The First Session – The first free session is to evaluate your needs and determine if coaching is right for you. In this call, we can talk about your most pressing challenge and spend most of our time addressing it. Each coaching assignment is for 60-days and can be extended in 30-day increments. At the end of the session, you can decide our program is right for you. If it is, we will define a set of goals for future coaching sessions, schedule your first four sessions, and outline your first assignment.
  2. 2Subsequent Coaching Sessions –Subsequent coaching sessions will start with a review of your past week’s activities, challenges accomplishments. Then, we will review the last assignment. Finally, we will discuss and outline your next session.
  3. 3Monthly Review –Every month, we’ll review and evaluate your original goals, and determine whether we’re on schedule for meeting the goals. We’ll also schedule your next four sessions.
  4. 4Determine Next Steps –If you’ve achieved your goals, we’ll discuss how you can continue to apply your new skills moving forward. If there are more you’d like help working toward; we’ll schedule further sessions.
